Hi,

Can someone please tell me how to fix this? Whenever I
start any of the Office 2000 programs, Outlook for
example, Windows Installer pops up saying "preparing to
install", then "Please wait while Windows configures
Microsoft Office 2000 Professional". Then nothing happens
and Outlook appears as normal.

I remove MS Office 2000, reinstall, the message comes back
again.

You may need to uninstall office 2000 manually,or
depending on which operating system you have you can Use
the windows installer cleanup utility.Click on this link
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-
US;238413 to know which version of installer is needed
here.The link should also tell you where to download it
from.

One more thing that could be causing this issue is if you
have more than one version of office on your system.(you
can check that in add/remove programs).If yes then good
idea to remove it.

I've been having this problem for about two weeks.

When I try to install the SP3 update for Office2K I keep
getting a 'installation unsuccessful' message...

A clue would be good about now...
