Has anyone else seen the problem where Project Server 2003/Windows 2003SP1
fails to authenticate users in AD. The Ethereal traces shows failure before
the SQL server is ever accessed. Serve is in AD. Terminal services with
domain account is functional as is access to the Sharepoint admin. site on
same server. The error appears to be in the RPC calls to the AD server.
This happens both with desktop and PWA the error returned is the generic
5001.
Using PWA and a project account we clearly see the calls to the database,
but have not been able to log in (That is a different story .)
Things we that have changed - July security patches applied. One DC
upgraded to Windows SP1 with hotfix. Same hotfix has been applied now to
Project Server.
Have pointed to the non-upgraded DC - no change.
