windows live email vs outlook

I have octlook 2003 installed on my computer but never used it.
I was unable to set it up to use with my mail.yahoo account.

I just found it easier to go online to email.

I am now reading about the windows live programs. The email setup sounds
pretty good to me. Looks like I can set it up for my email accounts.

Do I need to uninstall Outlook 2003 or can I have both installed on my
computer?
Any other feedback is appreciated.

If you have a free yahoo.com account you can't use that in any email client.

You can have both installed.

Note that you would still require Yahoo! Mail Plus to set up a POP3
connection. If you have that, you can use Outlook 2003 as well.

for a hotmail account.

Is there a benefit to using one over the other or is ther a benefit to

Yes you can certainly do that...

You can install both, or, you can download the Outlook Connector and use
your free Hotmail account in Outlook

Is there a benefit to using one over the other

Depends. If you have Vista, then Windows Calendar and Windows Contacts may
be sufficient for your neeeds. It all depends on what your needs are.

I have two that work with Pegasus Mail, Mozilla Thunderbird, and MS Outlook
Express.
