Help please; Quite some time ago I downloaded a number of audio discussions
in MP3 format from the net, was able to play them on the computer but now
find that when I try to play them I get the following error message. “You've
encountered error message C00D11B3 while using Windows Media Player. The
following information might help you troubleshoot the issueâ€.
Encountered a network error;
Windows Media Player cannot play the file because the Player encountered a
network error. You might encounter this error message for one of the
following reasons:
• The server is not available (for example, the server is busy or not
online). Try again later.
• You are not connected to the local area network (LAN) or to the Internet.
Connect to the network or the Internet, and then try again.
• The proxy server settings for the Player are not configured properly.
Verify that your proxy settings are correct, and then try again.
• If you are using your computer at work, your network administrator might
be blocking digital media streams from particular Web sites. For more
information, contact your network administrator.
MP3 talks that I downloaded today will play with WMPlayer so there does not
seem to be a problem with the WMP version that is installed. I am using
XP2003 with SP2. Thank you in advance. Rupert B
