windows media player rewinding

I have a situation where in powerpoint 2003 windows media player as inserted
from the control toolbox, rewinds my mpg2 clip once it has finished playing.
This does not happen in PP2000. I need the movie just to stop at the end
instead of rewinding back to the first frame of the movie. I have a bit of a
tight deadline on this so your help would certainly be appreciated.

As this is a call to the wmp on the OS I wonder if the root cause may be a
preference in wmp itself rather than have anything to do with powerpoint
hence the cross posting to the wmp group.

Ok i think i know what this is a about.

Powerpoint 2003 can use wmp10 it can also use mplayer2.exe

if it usese mplayer2.exe it plays fine. If it uses wmp9 or 10 with there not
being a tick box saying dont rewind movie it always does.
The trick now is to get powerpoint only to use mplayer2.exe which according

is not possible. However can i disable wmp10 thereby forcing the use of
mplayer2.exe?
