HHi everyone,
Having used Macs for 20 years, I've not been accustomed to Windows very
much. I've just discovered a feature of Windows PowerPoint that would be
quite useful but isn't possible in my version of Keynote 3.0.2.
What I want is this: When giving a presentation using Presenter mode,
the main slide is being projected while the laptop shows the Presenter
screen. In Windows PowerPoint, I can Alt-Tab while in this view to go to
& use another program, or to modify another presentation in PowerPoint.
The catch is that I can do this without affecting the slide that's being
presented on the projector. When I'm ready to return to the projected
slide, I can Alt-Tab back to it to advance it, etc. All this time, the
audience has no idea that I've done anything different to just advancing
the slides.
Why would I want to do this? When I'm up the back of the hall as the AV
Guy, I can control the slides for the speaker or for the stage show, & I
can still load new presentations & modify them as further speakers bring
them to me. Or I can switch to the audio program to trigger sounds to
play, or to record from the mixer desk. Etc, etc, etc, all very useful.
There doesn't seem to be a way to do this with my current versions of
Keynote 3.0.2 or PowerPoint 2004. Any ideas if the latest version of
Keynote (or PowerPoint 2008) does this?
Thanks.
Kwan.
