windows reinstall has screwed office ...

i'm running Office2003 on xp pro. i had to re-install windows but now
get the "word has not been installed for the current user" error when
running any office program. i have tried all of the solutions out there
(mso.dll, reg hacks etc) and nothing has worked. the solution that backs
up the admin user reg settings for office doesn't apply to me because i
am on a standalone laptop logged in as an admin user anyway.

the mso.dll solution
....(http://www.anypcinfo.com/MS_Office_Not_Installed_Fix.shtml) seemed
the most likely to work but i either got the same error or an app
crash.

am i doing something wrong or is there any way of fixing this on my set
up ?

If you've reinstalled windows then why did you not just re-install Office as
well? What's the point of trying hacks and workaraounds when if you'd
re-installed Office there wouldn't have been a problem in the first place?

apparently re-installing office doesn't even fix this problem. als
Office is already installed its just the permissions checking that i
stopping it from running. .

Presumably "apparently" means you haven't done it.
Secondly the fact that the Office FILES are there doesn't mean that anything
else is.

And please QUOTE the post you are replying to - this is NOT a "forum" at
techarena at all, but a Usenet newsgroup that techarena leaches off...
