WSS install (w/SP1) works just fine on Blade Server 'A'. Running WSS
configuration - "Configure Administrative Virtual Server" page works fine (pg
52 of the 2003 installation guide) also 'iisreset' executes OK.
Then 'Set Configuration Database Server' page generates an error. (Page
53/54). I enter the database server 'SSSSQL1\SSSInstance1', enter the SQL
Server database name 'WSSConfigDB'. Using Windows Authentication (logged on
as the admin account (Domain\ID) that was set up for this purpose.
Select OK and get the following error...
Getting frustrated here...thanks...
Unable to connect to user default database. (Error code: 4064)
The SQL database server is a separate cluster server with Multiple DB
instances. The DB Instance we're trying to connect to is NOT the default
port but another one. We've checked/rechecked accounts on both servers and
they look fine. We suspect that WSS is trying to connect using the default
port ID. Does anyone know how to get WSS to look at the port ID that we want
it to use?
