Windows Update and Office 2003

I had installed Office 2003 and had been using it for some time without any problems ... however when I downloaded Windows updates it seemed to completley crash Office ... Opening MSWord 'Word 11 has run out of Memory' ... Opening Excel - It would not show any toolbars, and wanted to continuosly reload..

After much angst, I rolled back to a system restore point before the windows update, and it all works well again

My question is, has anyone had the same problem, and is there now a patch for this. I am currently a little scared to download and install windows updates, because of the effects it may have on Office (again)

When you downloaded and *installed* the updates, was your AV file scan
enabled? If so, next time, disable it first.
