Windows update should not make me request Office CD's from Toshib.

In attempting to install Windows updates on my laptop, I find that the only
way to do so is by inserting the original Office CD's. All of the Office
software on the computer was pre-installed by Toshiba. I have only one DVD
that came with the computer. It is entitled "Toshiba Recovery and
Applications/ Drivers DVD Satellite A45 Series." I almost inserted this into
the computer, until I realized that the back of the DVD case said step 3 is
"The computer will format the hard drive and install the factory image."
Obviously I am not going to do that. This basically means that I cannot
install any Windows updates. This is frustrating to no end. The only other
option that Windows update offered was to contact the manufacturer of the
computer for CD's. I shouldn't be forced to do this. And in fact I am NOT
going to do this.

Well as Toshiba supplied, configured, the software/sys, support is their
responsibility.
MS doesn't support OEM software.
Just one of the minor irritations that sys vendors rarely publicise.
