Windows Work 8.5 word document does not open

I recently got a new computer with Vista pre-installed. the computer came
with a Work 8.5. CD which I installed.
Although the Excel works I have a problem opening Word. It opens at times,
at others it says that there is a problem with the "font cache" and therefore
cannot open the application. What should I do?

I'm also having a problem with the spooler. I don't imagine that they are
related but are they by any chance?

Works 8.5 includes a word processor and a spreadsheet application, but they
are not Word or Excel. The proper place for your question is in a Works
newsgroup.
