windows wrong volume

Hi,

I will try to be as descriptive as possible with regard to this problem, but
please forgive me if this is not brilliant as I am not an expert when it
comes to IT.

The problem is -

A rectangular box has appeared on my screen and will not go away.

The box has a blue top containing the words - "Windows - Wrong Volume". Also
in the blue on the far right of the box is an "X", which I have tried
pressing in order to get rid of this box, but to no avail.

Outside of the blue, the remainder of the box is grey and contains a white
cross in a red circle. Also there are the words - "The wrong volume is in the
drive. Please insert volume DPCB1006DVD into drive D:."

There are then 3 buttons "cancel", "Try Again" and "Continue"

I have tried pressing these buttons but the box still does not go away.

I am usuing windows XP and I would appreciate some help with regard to this
problem.

Thanks, Beachey

This means that you started some kind of operation (e.g., Copying a file
from a CD or DVD that was in your D: drive, installing something from your
D: drive, etc.), but you then removed that disk from the D: drive before the
operation was complete.

Inserting the disk that Windows is looking for will give you a chance to
properly terminate the process. Rebooting also usually will make it go away
(unless it's something that's loaded in your startup sequence).
