windows xp professional

Excel and MS Woed did not come with my Dell installed XP
Professional. How can I get these or did I get the wrong
sftwre.

Your new Dell came with WINDOWS XP Professional.

Office XP is a separate application (or a suite of applications). You have to
buy it yourself. (Dell does offer a version. You may want to call them back
and see how much they want compared to your favorite store. (Actually, I'm not
sure if Dell will sell it to you if they don't install it!--but it can't hurt to
ask.))

That's a lot more descriptive of how it really works as opposed to
what MS named it.

If it's not already on your PC and they didn't give you the disks, then
you don't have it.
I'd contact Dell to see what was actually in the package that you
bought.

If it comes to pass that you do need to buy it, e-Bay is a good place to

look for some decent prices.

Ah, XP Professional is the operating system. I think maybe you wanted
the OFFICE Professional package, which includes Word, Excel, et. al.
