Windows XP, SP2 and Office 97 Pro

I just installed XP w/SP2 on a new hard drive & when I
went ot install Office 97 Pro, I get a read on the CD and
then after 3-4 minutes drive activity stops and my
computer no longer sees the CD Drive???
