I am receiving the error of the macros in this project are disabled. Please

In Excel:
Tools -> Options -> Security -> Macro Security

The details may vary a little from verstion to version.

I received the message while I was in Word inputting information on a
protected document that has macros. Well that still work? What do I need to
do once I open Excel and Security?

Were you typing?
It's strange to receive the message during input. Macros can be run by
Tools->Macros menu call or on activating a document. So check your computer
for viruses.

I was inputting information and trying to save it and that is when the
message popped up.
