Windows2000 Registry Checker/Scanner MVP PLEASE HELP

On a Windows 2000 Professional machine, when I try to uninstall Office XP Pro I get the following error:

Error 1402 Setup cannot open registry key

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Current\Version\Setup\Migration DLLs

I have checked out Beth's(MVP) answer to Karen about article 302853 and that only deals w/OficeXP installed on Windows ME or Windows98. Is there any way to fix tis error or even to scan and fix the Windows 2000 registry so Office XP can be uninstalled. If anyone can help please answer this and/or e-mail me at hotmail.com.
