Windows98/ Microsoft Word Office 2000 Crashes after after updates

I just recently got a message to updates to Microsoft Office and and
downloaded all the updates. Now, I cannot get into MS Word, the system
crashes all the time when i tryo to open previous documents or new documents.
Error Messages i recieve include: illegal operation, system is too low on
resources, and when ctr+alt+delete the system wants to close winword then
explorer and anything else that is open. I have to constantly restart. Thanks
in advance!
