WindowsBeforeRightClick crash (Word 2000)

Using MFC/C++, Visual Studio 2k3, and Word 2k.
When I set *Cancel to VARIANT_TRUE in WindowsBeforeRightClick, it crashes
everytime. Is there a workaround for this? I don't want the shortcut menu
to show.
