WindowXP word processor software became corrupted after less than one year

I bought a new computer installed with windowXP less than
one year ago. And I can not use the word processor
because of all sorts of problems, such as I can not move
the mouse ,type in any words or reset the page,etc. I
have got in touch with the retailer who sold me the
computer and all they can tell me that I need to reintall
the software on the computer.Has anybody had the same
problem before and could you tell me the best method to
sort it out?

Which word processor? WordPad? Then you need to post in a Windows NG?
