For some reason, Outlook won't work now. It says it required windows
installer to work, so I installed it, now it says can't finind wininet.dll,
of which there are hundreds in the windows directory. Can anyone help. I am
running XP3 SP2 and Office 2000 premium still.

If there are hundreds of wininet.dll files in your windows directory, then
you have a bigger problem at hand. When is the last time you ran a chkdsk
on your C drive to verify the hard drive is in good working order? Is your
antivirus up to date and/or have you had recent problems with virus?

what else should I do?

open a command prompt and type: chkdsk c: /f

You will have to reboot in order for it to check the drive to see if there
are any issues. (Note: If there is a problem with your drive, you may end
up losing whatever is on it.)
