winmail.dat attachment error to aol

Glor

Several aol uses receive my attachments as winmail.dat, which can not be
opened. I have modified the items from rich text, to html, to plain text. I
do not use an exchange server and have researched this for a very long time.
Nothing seems to work.

I have two aol email accounts and believe the problem is on the aol side,
but they will not assist me. I open each account in the web based mail. One
of them can view the attachments and other one can not. So many of my
clients can not open my attachments.

This is a very big problem for me.
