I'm using Outlook 2000 on a Win XP machine. Outlook always attaches a
winmail.dat file to sent messages. The default mail format is set to
plain text. Even with the message format set to uuencode, the
winmail.dat data appears inline -- messy, useless and ugly. Even
specifically selecting plain text from the format menu still results
in this winmail.dat file being sent.
This is not a problem if all recipients are using Outlook, since the
winmail.dat is proprietary Outlook TNEF/RTF data.

(watch the line wrapping)
Viewing mail through a web interface is useless if the original mail
included an attached file, like a picture or something, since this
picture would end up embedded within the winmail.dat file.
So, after searching through as many groups as I could stand, I'm still
no closer to solving my problem. If anyone has any solution or
suggetion, I will appreciate it very much.
