Winword creates error in Winword.exe

I know I'm outdated, but I have Word95 and only on two
documents (long with endnotes), everytime I try to open
them I get the error "winword has caused an error in
WINWORD.EXE" and word automatically closes. I can't
access the documents at all (no scroll or print), but they
come on screen.
