Winword error

Michelle

Using Outlook 2003 and Word 2000 from Office pro, getting error event ID 26.
Ive installed the MS event descriptive fault reports, and now event ID shows
Event ID 1000, Description: Faulting application outlook.exe, version
11.0.6565.0, stamp 42cacc7d, faulting module ntdll.dll, version
5.0.2195.7006, stamp 41e648e0, debug?

0, fault address 0x0004b333.

Please help as word wont open at all, and outlook is generating the above
errors.

Thank you

Hi, Michelle. The only thing I can think here is that you cannot use Word as
your email editor if your version of Word and Outlook are not exactly the
same. So... you can't use Word 2000 as the email editor for Outlook 2003.

Hi Anne

Thank you for your reply, Ive been doing some more fault finding on his pc,
Ive tried printing to his printer from my machine and got the same error, so
changed the default printer to our office xerox, and he can now open word and
outlook doesnt throw up any errors, but still cant print to the Dell. So Im
going to see if an update of the drivers would work.

Thank you again

This took me forever to figure out. No thanks to Microsoft. I had 6 wor
stations on my network that had this error. There is not a whole lot o
good info out there on this, and MS does not seem to be puttin
anything out for fix it.

Problem: MS Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint crashed after trying t
print. It sometimes just happened in word randomly. A box comes u
telling you that the app is going to restart.

Solution: Un-install windows 2000 Service pack 4 roll up. Then
manually installed the patches separately. That way I will not b
vulnerable to older threats.

I repeated this on my other PCs that were having the error and it seem
to be fixed. I hope this help everyone. This has been a real pain.
Good Luck,
