I've developed a process that extracts data from our SAP
system into a spreadsheet. The user then opens a word
document that needs to re-find the spreadsheet data. When
they link to the excel spreadsheet they get the
winword.exe error. I've looked at the dr watson file and
error is Exception number: c0000005 (access violation).
I've searched the knowledge database and didn't find a
solution. I've tried 3 things:
1. Uninstalled word.
2. Deleted normal.dot
3. In the registry I deleted entry
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\9.0\Word\Data
The version of word is Word 2000 9.0.3821 SR-1.
It should be noted that this process is used by ~2500
users and fails on ~25 machines.
