Winword.exe errors in Office 2000

Hi;

I am "going bald" trying to resolve an issue with MS Word
in Office 2000. Anytime a document is being typed in Word
and it is misspelled, the red underline occurs and I get a
winword.exe error. I have upgraded Office to sp3, but the
problem persists. I have recreated the normal.dot
template, but the error persists..... Please I am running
out of hair!!
