WINWORD.EXE will now close

When i go onto Microsoft Word 2000 SR1, I can no longer
bring up the program. It says: "Winword has caused an
error in Winword.exe. Winword will n ow close"

I'm having the same problem. Have removed and reinstalled
Word but still getting same error message. I have looked
at the web page indicated below but it's very confusing.
Any simple down-to-earth answers? Thanks.

Work through the troubleshooting steps in the referenced article. That's as
