Please help me correct the following Symantec caused error msg.:"
Winword.exe has generated errors and will be closed by windows. You will
need to restart the program. An error log is being created." . I have Win2K
Pro srvc.pk.4 + Office 2000 w/ all updates. I have read the posts concerning
Norton Antivirus "Office Plug-in"; however, I have had Norton System Works
(includes Norton Antivirus) on this PC since 2001 without any errors or
problems (currently NSW2005). I installed Norton Personal Firewall 2005 and
instantly started the error messages in 3 programs: MS.Word, WordPad,
Perfect Secretary (Bowling league info). In all cases the error message is
the same except the .exe file name changes. In all 3 cases Disabling NPF05
stops the error messages. Other than Disable NPF for XX minutes, I have
found another work around for the present = PERMIT File & Printer Sharing in
NPF rules also stops the error messages; however, it does NOT restore the
File & Printer Sharing. Disabling NPF for XX minutes = normal file and
printer sharing restored.
I have the latest Drwtsn32.log if someone can understand it. The log file is
updated at every occurrence of the error msg.
Please reply with any ideas.
thanks,
Lynn
