Winword has caused an error in Kernel32.dll Winword will now close

Hi,

I am running Office 97 and Windows ME. I have been using Word for many
years. Now I am getting the following message:

"Winword has caused an error in Kernel32.dll. Winword will now close."

I can no longer use Word. Can anybody give me some help. I tried to
reinstall Office 97 with no success running Microsoft Word.
