Winword has caused an error in MS09.DLL

Hello,

I am experiencing the following error when trying to open
Word 2000: "Winword has caused an error in MS09.DLL If
you continue to experience problems, try restarting your
computer."

I tryed to restart my computer (several times) but the
error continues to occur and I cannot use Word 2000.

Does anyone know how to correct this error?

I was able to fix this issue by renaming the Normal.dot
folder to Normal.old -- then restarting my machine -- and
then I had to reinsert my printer's software because the
system was saying it detected new hardware. Anyways, I
can now start up and use the Word 2000 program. Thank you

response and help on this issue!
