Winword load problems

i have a user that is unable to load word 2003. It just happened out of the
blue. I have tired the following so far

1. uninstalled, rebooted, installed
2. removed normal.dot, but a new one was never generated
3. removed office11/data registery key
4. copied normal.dot from my pc to hers, didnt work
5. winword /a works loads word fine

after all that, i still cant load word 2003. for some reason, i see a werid
block character when i tried to create a new document. after that, it just
froze. nothing was installed or uninstalled prior to the load error. No clue
right now...stuck. any help would be great.

If Word functions correctly when you start it with the /a switch then
the problem is not caused by the Word installation. It looks like you
checked for everything but global templates and add-ins. Take a look
at section 4 of this troubleshooting guide:
