I am wondering about the winzip in Office XP. What
exactly are the funtions of it compared to a full license
of Winzip?
Did you mean the right-click ZIP compression in Windows XP? I don't think
this is Winzip as such. It merely uses the same compression format.
As for functions, dedicated ZIP compression apps like Winzip generally have
options for different kinds of compression algorithms (such as trade off
between speed and size) as well as packaging options. For example, you can
have self-extracting ZIPs and have them execute stuff when extracted to
create simple setup applications. Another feature is password protection,
which XP supports for extraction but not creation.
