I noticed a new process running named WispTis.exe. Properties say it is a Tablet PC Pen Input Service component. Since I have a Dell Optiplex desktop running Windows XP SP1a/Office 2003, and this item was never listed in processes before, and I don't have any sort of pen or pad (just the usual mouse/keyboard), I wondered what made Windows decide it needed it
On one website, someone said it was triggered by opening an Adobe email attachment in Outlook 2003, but I've opened lots of PDF attachments without this loading before

A MS website claims it is caused by Journal Viewer, which is installed, but not launched

Other non-MS advice was to unregister WispTis on non-Tablet PC's
%SystemRoot%\system32\wisptis.exe -unregserve
Why does MS do this
Is unregistering this the preferred solution
Does anyone have anything more to add that can keep this thing out of our hair?
There's already too many legitimate processes running. We don't need unnecessary stuff like this installing itself
