When you click on a folder in OneNote, in addition to having access to the
sections contained within that folder, you should also be able to view a
Windows Explorer-like listing of all other files contained within that
folder, and be able to double-click on the files to open them in their
respective programs.

It would also be nice to have a direct way of creating hyperlinks within
OneNote.

I think as OneNote matures and (hopefully) is able to incorporate more
data from other programs and some basic stuff like better HTML and OLE, I
think accessing other data from within OneNote will be easier.

As a workaround, if you're looking for an Explorer-like view, then you
can use Explorer. The default path of C:\Documents and Settings
\<yourname>\My Documents\My Notebook can be navigated and here you can
see the OneNote hierarchy and the other Office files placed there by
OneNote. I'll grant that this might be inconvenient to switch out of
OneNote to see these other files.

A workaround for the hyperlinks is to create them in another program
(such as Word) and then paste the resulting HTML into OneNote. Again,
not convenient but a valid workaround.
