Wizard Error

J

James Silverton

Hello, All!

I don't use Word templates much apart from the obvious ones nor
wizards either. However, on reading the discussion of templates,
I tried a few experiments. While using the letter wizard, I
inserted a letter salutation that was not included.
Unfortunately, I misspelled it :) Tho' I did not use the
letter, that misspelling comes back to haunt me as an option if
I try the wizard. How on earth do I get rid of it or similar new
salutations?

TIA

hey are stored as AutoText entries. Go to
Insert/AutoText/AutoText,
find the entry and delete it.
Thank you very much Beth, I did what you said and it worked! I
wonder why Help can't give that information or perhaps I did not
use a sufficiently arcane search word :)

I didn't think this type of information would be in Help either but
out of curiosity in Word 2003 I took a look in Help and searched for
"Letter Wizard" and found "Modify frequently used text in letters"
which does say "...standard elements - such as the salutation or
closing - stored as AutoText entries. More items are added as you
create letters...":
http://office.microsoft.com/assista...n=EC010227131033&QueryID=Rey7s83QO0&respos=12

I'm almost impressed but they'd need to also explain how Styles to
categorize the AutoText entries in the Letter Wizard. <g>
