Wizards don't work

M

MRBOGGISS

I installed Office 2003, then bought Access 2003 Student & Teacher Edition. The design wizards arn't there - no explanation. I have tried everything. Are they just missing from the product - I will feel annoyed if they are because there is just an error message when you try to use them & I have just wasted my afternoon. If so, can I get them? Otherwise, what is wrong. Any help would be much appreciated

Thank

Hi Mike,

You receive no error?
Have you tried performing a Detect/Repair of your installation?
Download and install the latest service of the JET Database engine, see:
How To: Obtain the Latest Service Pack for the Microsoft Jet 4.0 Database
Engine http://support.microsoft.com/?id=239114

Re-register the file "DAO360.dll" as follows:

- Click Start > Run
- In the open run command line type the following
regsvr32 "c:\program files\common files\microsoft shared\dao360.dll"
- Click OK. Should receive message succeeded.
- Reopen Microsoft Access and create a new database to see if the design
wizard appears

I hope this helps! If you have additional questions on this topic, please
respond back to this posting.

I was having the exact same problem as Mike mentioned
below. Running Windows XP and Office 2000. I attempted
to install SR3 for O2k, and had problems. I cancelled the
install, and didn't seem to have any problems until I got
back into my Access DB. I couldn't use the Switchboard
and I received an error that the wizards weren't
installed. I attempted uninstall/reinstall numerous times
with no effect. Per Eric's comment, I did the JET update,
and, presto - no more problems.
