Ppt 2000 on Win 2000 vs Pptxp on WinXp
Created a presentation on ppt2k, included a WMV file clip on one slide set
to run automatically. [note: used a blank slide layout, inserted Movie from
file] Presentation and WMV file reside in different network folders. The
presentation performs as expected in the 2K environment.
When the movie file is called on the XP systems( have tried on 2 or 3
different stations), the initial image appears for about 3 seconds. The
Screen then fades to Bright green and the application locks. The only way out
of this lockup is accessing the task manager and ending the PowerPoint thread.
Have tried the following on the XP system(s)
I theorized that XP might have a reduced path name limit> Moved the
presentation and WMV files to local my documents folder on XP machine-- no
change in results
After the above--Hid the original problem slide, Added a new slide, inserted
the WMV file to play automatically, saved and ran-- same results
Wondered if display resolution might affect this-- increased resiolution
from 800X600 to 1024X768-- same results
What should I try next?
Thanks in advance for your ideas and suggestions
