Hi

I have 2 wmv-files, 2 and 1 mb in size.
When inserting these into a powerpoint presentation they wount play,
when i run the slideshow?
The screen just goes blank.

If I doubleclick them in Windows XP, they work fine, they play in
Windows Media Player. So I conclude there is nothing wrong with the
movies, and there are codecs for the files on the machine we are using,
otherwise they wouldn't play there either right?

On two machines, one with Swedish Office 2003 and one with English
Office 2003 they work fine, but on one third machine with Swedish
Office 2003 it just wount work. I have created the presentation with
the movie files on one of the working machine and sent it on to the
third one, with the same result, video wount play.

Windows XP Sp2 (swedish)
Office 2003 Sp2 (swedish)

Any ideas?

my only guess would be the version of Media Player is different (older)

First, the Windows Media Player is not a good test as it has nothing to do
with PowerPoint and media. Instead PowerPoint uses the MCI player for media
playback. Next, there are several version of the WMV format and they use
different codecs. I suspect the machine that fails to play them is missing
the needed codec(s).

You might want to give PFCPro a try (fully functioning free two week trial)
as it will process the media file in a manner that should make it playable
on just about any Windows PC.
