WMV files in Powerpoin 2008

I can't put a wmv file in my Powerpoint presentation. I have downloaded the Windows Media Components for Quicktime from Flip4Mac, and the movie plays just fine if I just open it, but PPT won't let me insert it and says it is not a movie file. I tried manually changing the file extension to .mov (which I was pretty sure wouldn't work), but that didn't do the trick either. What do I do?

I know, this is just plain silly. I remember trying this out a while ago
and if I quite remember, there is a way to get it to work. Try using the
Insert commadn and if it doesn't work try drag and drop.

In any case, WMV should sure be accepted by PPT if you have the QT
codecs.

I'm trying to use a PPT file that was created for Windows PPT on my Intel Mac using PPT 2008 and the WMV embedded video files will not run. They run fine if I play them directly using QT.

Any suggestions on how to get them to play?

Thanks

Hi,

Install the free Flip4Mac program. It has codecs for WMV so they will
play in QuickTime.

All you need is the free version unless you want to also be able to take
MOV format and save it as WMV.

Thanks for the response. I figure that out soon after asking the question.

Another question. I can't get the video to play in PPT 2004. Is there a way to play it. I can play the WMVs in QT.
