.wmv files transfer error

Hi all. Hoping someone can help with this problem. I am trying to get
video clips on my web site, and after waiting FOREVER for the avi files to
transfer, I began using wmv files. They are even smaller than mpeg.
Problem is that after the file uploads, I get the message "cannot rename
file xxxx" and the transfer is aborted. I went to the microsoft knowledge
database and found an article addressing this error. The solution involves
editing the registry, but when I get to the part where I need to delete some
entries in the registry, they are not there in my registry. Now what? What
format is the best for uploading video files to the web??

The problem is on the host, not your local machine. Have you contacted your
host?

No, not yet. But if you think that is the problem, I will do that. Thanks.
BTW, I just tried mpg files and got the same message. Will contact the
host - Comcast.
