won't allow add/update in datasheet mode

Hi all. I have started having this problem recently, hope someone can help. I
have a database that has few linked files in it. Now suddenly, it seems to
get confused and wont let the user add/update in datasheet mode until i
delete the link and re-link it.
[I first tried refreshing the links, compact/repair of db and restarting the
server]
The files are linked via ODBC [client access]. Any help would be appreciated.
P.s. the db is not split, and it's only used by one user, although it does
reside on a server.

just a note: this problem went away when I elminated a dynamic view (logical
access) to the ODBC table.
