Won't animate and there is no content in the Help menu

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel

I used PP a lot under XP and Vista and have just switched to a MacBook. I can't get the slide animation working - when I click on the text, it doesn't show up in the Animation Order box. Also when I click on help, there is no content at all.

All help greatly appreciated
