Wont let me click on the writing screen.

I have Miscrosoft Office 2007 suit. Everytime I open a file and try to click
on the body of text it wont let me. It wont let me highlight or move the
clicker so i can decide where to start writing. I also cannot scroll by
clicking on the arrows or the bar to slide it.

I have a brand new Compaq with Windows Vista.

Anyone know what the problem is?

I've also removed and reinstalled the programs. it did nothing.

It could be any of the following:

* The trial version of Office 2007 is expired
* You have not activated the trial version of Office 2007
* You have not activated the full version of Office 2007
* You did not uninstall the trial version of Office 2007 prior to
installing (and activating) the full version of Office 2007

While Gordon is almost certainly right, it could also indicate corruption of
the data key in the registry. Delete the following key
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Word\Data with Word closed.

How do i delete the key? Because The version I have is not a trial version
and it is fully registered. So i'm hoping that its as easy as deleting the
data key.

http://www.gmayor.com/my_toolbars_are_missing.htm shows how to access the
data key of Word 2003 (Word 11). If you substitute 12 for 11 it will give
you the Word 2007 data key. With the Data key selected, as in the second
illustration on that page (forget the rest of the page), right click and
delete. Word will build a new key with install defaults when it is started.
