won't load office updates

Tried several times to update M/S Office. I changed my internet settings to
allow it. Still won't update. Tried downloading from Microsoft's websiteand
wouldn't update. Anyone have a work around?

I have tried the fixes in the article up to and including 7. Sure enough I
can the get the Update process to work. Problem is that if I run Office
Update again having changed absolutely nothing, I get the "Catalog can't be
displayed" message.

I'm at a loss.
