I recently reinstalled Office 2003 aftter formating my hard drive. It says it
is activated. I am unable to open documents(message says it is unavailable)
and a running virus scan is displayed on the bottom. I have uninstalled
Norton anti-virus and turned off the yahoo anti -virus. What anti virus is
running? Also when I try to exit, I get the message " the file Normal already
exists, do you want to replace the existing one?"

Use Windows Explorer or My Computer to search for a file named
OFFICEAV.DLL on the hard drive (include system and hidden files/folders
in your search options). If you find it, note the folder where it is
located, and use the "regsvr32 /u" method described in
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=329820 "How to use Office programs
with the Norton AntiVirus Office plug-in" to unregister the DLL.
