won't remember password

Just loaded my old Office 2000 on a new computer, an HP
with MS Windows XP Home edition. I cannot get the OUlook
or Outlook Express to remember my password.

I have done the properties - accounts - remember - apply
etc, but no good. I am sure there is a simple solution I
am just not seeing.

Any ideas?

were you able to resolve this issue? I'm having the same
problem and nothing seems to work. I'm prompted for
password every time I send or receive messages.
