won't save as Word XP - prg insists on Word 95

I have Office XP. Sometimes in the past several weeks I wanted to "save as"
Word 6.0/95 but now, even when I start a new document it will ONLY save as
Word 6.0/95 even when I don't want it to and says hypertext won't be blue etc
etc.... I reinstalled it and it has not made a difference. Anyone know why?

Check the Save tab of Tools | Options. Perhaps you have the option to
"Disable features introduced after Word 6.0/95" selected, or you may have
the Word 6.0/95 format selected as the default one.
