Anyone having trouble with people with Word 97 or 2000
receiving Word 2003 documents and they can't open them or
are very slow to open? Some even say their computer
indicates "not an MS Word doc".

No, but... What kinds of things to these Word 2003 documents
contain? Have you made sure to disable functionality not
available to earlier versions (Tools/Options/Save)?
