Word 07 not working

Word stopped working-open doc from folder gets word with blue background no
doc, can open with folder open icon but cannot select anything in doc-when
close doc get microsoft office word has stopped working, a problem caused the
program to stop working correctly. windows will close the program and notify
you if a solution is available-nothing available-ran repair-no
change-diagnostics does not show a problem--what has happened to the
add/remove programs so that I could just uninstall word and re-install?? This
has happened since the last microsoft update auto installed.

Jay--THANK YOU--it worked! I spent so much time trying to fix the problem
myself and looking for information.
