Word 2000: A UserForm like a task pane

Word version: 2000

I'd like to create a template that positions and resizes the document window
so that it takes up the left 80 percent of the screen. In the rightmost 20
percent, I'd like to display a UserForm with controls that could be used to
alter the text in the document. (For example, if I click on a given button,
it might insert some canned text into the document.) This arrangement would
be similar to the task pane available in Office 2002 and 2003 applications.

Anyone know of a way to do this? I'd be open to using something other than a
UserForm--a toolbar, for instance, that could be similarly positioned
absolutely.
